The main goal of Digital + is for it to be a more universal audio format for regular DVDs and the new high-definition ones. With non re-encoding player, you get 640 kb/s from Dolby True HD discs (or somenting of a similar encoding value, can't remember the exact figure) and 1.5 mb/s from DTS-MA discs. With a BR player that offers it, you get 1.5 mb/s wheather the HD track is Dolby True HD or DTS-MA. It is difficult for you to tell the differences between Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio by simply looking at their definition. DTS-HD Master Audio is a combined lossless/lossy audio codec created by DTS (formerly Digital Theater Systems), commonly used for surround-sound movie soundtracks on Blu-ray Disc. All my friends come over to watch Blu-rays and they here the difference as well. My receiver is a Denon 1910 and there is a huge difference between Dolby and DTS Master. And i can say i have been pissed evey time i have to watch a movie in dolby true HD. Ive been using both blu-ray and HD DVD since they came out.
